Inspirational Bible Scriptures
Beautifully Presented

"Inspirational Bible scriptures.... What a great way to keep your attitude right and share God's love with others!"

What would the founding Fathers think?

I feel moved, more than ever, to reflect on the legacy that is our's as Americans. At this time in our history when changes are being made toward the power of government and away from the rights of "WE THE PEOPLE", I can't help but instinctively reach back for the security and encouragement found in the great wisdom of our founding Fathers. Make no mistake, this is a hinge point in the life of our nation. I genuinly believe that the formation of our great union was the result of divine intervention. Our founding Father's had a tremendous respect for, and faith in, the Almighty Creator. I also believe that it is no accident that the lives of these men intersected in history as they did. To think it is simply good luck that such a group of leaders, thinkers and patriots would come together in the same place, and at the same time is pure foolishness.

Inspirational Bible scriptures frame our motivations and goals. The verse below reminds us we are accountable for our actions. Just as inspirational Bible scriptures anchor us to our convictions, the quotes that follow from our founders narrow our focus on what really matters. The recorded wisdom of our founding Fathers clearly articulates our relationship as "We The People" to our government.

So, I challenge us to answer the questions.... Will our children and grandchildren live in the America we've lived in? Will they know liberty?

Nothing in the world can be hidden from God. Everything is clear and lies open before Him, and to Him we must explain the way we have lived.

- Hebrews 4:13

founding fathers

"If men through fear, fraud or mistake, should in terms renounce and give up any essential natural right, the eternal law of reason and the great end of society, would absolutely vacate such renunciation; the right to freedom being the gift of God Almighty, it is not in the power of Man to alienate this gift, and voluntarily become a slave." - John Adams, Rights of the Colonists, 1772

"I am for doing good to the poor, but I differ in opinion of the means. I think the best way of doing good to the poor, is not making them easy in poverty, but leading or driving them out of it. In my youth I traveled much, and I observed in different countries, that the more public provisions were made for the poor, the less they provided for themselves, and of course became poorer. And, on the contrary, the less was done for them, the more they did for themselves, and became richer." - Benjamin Franklin, On the Price of Corn and Management of the Poor, November 1766

"And can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are the gift of God? That they are not to be violated but with his wrath? Indeed I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just: that his justice cannot sleep for ever." - Thomas Jefferson, Notes on the State of Virginia, Query 18, 1781

"Every man who loves peace, every man who loves his country, every man who loves liberty ought to have it ever before his eyes that he may cherish in his heart a due attachment to the Union of America and be able to set a due value on the means of preserving it." - James Madison, Federalist No. 41, January 1788

"It should be the highest ambition of every American to extend his views beyond himself, and to bear in mind that his conduct will not only affect himself, his country, and his immediate posterity; but that its influence may be co-extensive with the world, and stamp political happiness or misery on ages yet unborn." - George Washington, letter to the Legislature of Pennsylvania, September 5, 1789

"If Virtue and Knowledge are diffused among the People, they will never be enslav'd. This will be their great Security." - Samuel Adams, letter to James Warren, February 12, 1779

"Will the abandonment of your most sacred rights tend to the security of your liberty? Liberty, the greatest of all earthly blessings — give us that precious jewel, and you may take every thing else! Guard with jealous attention the public liberty. Suspect every one who approaches that jewel." - Patrick Henry, speech in the Virginia Convention, June 5, 1788

So, the challenge lies before us! If you have children or grandchildren, go to their bedside tonight as they sleep and say a prayer and make a promise. A promise to do what is in your power to protect their liberties, so they will have the America our founding Fathers expected us to pass on to the next generation. Become informed!
