When Thomas Edison said the following....
"Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work." - Thomas Edison
I don't think he meant that we all needed to commit ourselves to manual labor in order to find opportunity. No, I think what he was sharing with us was the idea that there is no magic pill that those who are successful in life know about and the rest of society hasn't found yet. Get busy, work hard, and good things will happen. Now, if that happens to be something that involves wearing overalls, then so be it. But it could just as well be wearing a suit and tie. It's the "WORK" part that matters.
So, the Bible tells us....
"In all labor there is profit, but idle chatter leads only to poverty." - Proverbs 14:23
In other words, talk is cheap. Action is what matters. Don't just sit there waiting for a magic pill or talking about what you're going to do someday. GET BUSY!
